Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts has a world-wide reputation for teaching and learning excellence. Adjudged by the Times Higher Education Supplement as the seventh best in the world for Arts and Humanities and tenth for Social Sciences, the Faculty of Arts is committed to progressive, innovative and high quality education.

The introduction of the Melbourne Model and the Faculty’s New Generation Bachelor of Arts (BA) provides new opportunities for teaching and learning. As flagships of the New Generation BA, the Faculty Interdisciplinary Foundation subjects are designed to develop and reflect this commitment to innovative teaching and learning practices and pedagogy.

The Teaching and Learning Committee is the primary forum for the development of policy and review measures designed to improve teaching and learning in the Faculty. The activities of the Committee can be found through meeting minutes and papers addressing key pedagogical questions related to New Generation teaching.

The TLC Library is an online hosting of topical teaching and learning literature, adding an academic robustness to the work of the Teaching and Learning Committee.
