Course Planning & Enrolment - Research

Master of Arts by Research

Master of Arts by Research (Thesis Only), (Advanced Seminars and Shorter Thesis), (Research/Creative) students should refer to the Online Re-Enrolment information on the Student Information System (SIS) and take note of the following additional Faculty information.

Course Planning and Re-Enrolment

Re-enrolment is co-ordinated by Enrolment Management Services in conjunction with Faculty. If you have received the Main Re-Enrolment Letter with Important Information Regarding your 2008 Enrolment, the University is expecting you to re-enrol and will impose penalties and cancellation of your enrolment if no action is taken.

Should I be re-enrolling?

Re-enrolment is compulsory for all students. Re-enrolment applies from 1 January 2008 so even if you are finishing early in 2008 you must re-enrol to avoid penalties and/or cancellation of your enrolment. To avoid paying the $250 Late Fee or having your enrolment completely cancelled, you must complete all re-enrolment formalities as advised by Enrolment Management Services, even if this means just accepting the terms and conditions of your ongoing enrollment in a thesis subject no later than 23 November 2007.

Masters by Research (Advanced Seminars and Shorter Thesis)

Students who have not completed the Advanced Seminars component of their research degree will need to enroll in a subject no later than 16 November 2007. For information on Subjects/Courses consult the Postgraduate Studies Catalogue. Contact Research and Postgraduate Studies on 8344 9080 to arrange an appointment to enrol. You must also accept the terms and conditions of re-enrolment via the Student Information System (SIS). If you cannot access the SIS, please contact Research and Postgraduate Studies on 8344 9080 to avoid penalties and/or cancellation of your enrolment.

Masters by Research (Thesis Only) and Masters by Research (Research/Creative)

If you are intending to return in 2008 you will automatically be re-enrolled in the major/shorter thesis on either a full-time or part-time basis however you must still accept the terms and conditions of re-enrolment via the Student Information System (SIS). If you cannot access the SIS, please contact Research and Postgraduate Studies on 8344 9080 to avoid penalties and/or cancellation of your enrolment.

Re-Enrolment Dates

15 October – 23 November 2007 If you re-enrol during this period, you will secure your 2008 place without penalty.

Terms and conditions

Accepting the re-enrolment terms and conditions is part of the online re-enrolment process for students. All students must accept the terms and conditions via the Student Information System (SIS). If you are returning to study in 2008 you understand that by re-enrolling you will be liable for tuition fees, student contribution or other fees or charges.

All re-enrolling students who have not accepted these terms and conditions by 24 November 2007 will be fined $250.

Late Re-Enrolment

25 November – 8 December 2007 – If you re-enrol during this period, you will secure your 2007 place, but will incur a $250 Failure to Re-enrol Penalty.

Failure to Re-Enrol

9 December 2007 – If you have not re-enrolled by this date, your enrolment will be cancelled and your place may be re-allocated to another student.  If you are permitted to re-enrol, you will be liable for the $250 Failure to re-enrol Penalty; you will lose any transitional arrangements and will be charged the 2008 fee rate.

Finishing in Semester 1, 2008

All students who are continuing their enrolment in 2008 (even if on Leave of Absence) are required to re-enrol.  Re-enrolment applies from 1 January 2008 so even if you are finishing early in 2008 you must re-enrol to avoid penalties and/or cancellation of your enrolment.

Leave of Absence

If you are currently on Leave of Absence, you must still accept the terms and conditions of re-enrolment via the Student Information System (SIS). If you cannot access the SIS, please contact Research and Postgraduate Studies on 8344 9080 to avoid penalties and/or cancellation of your enrolment.
