The University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program (UMELBP)
Students who have achieved an overall International English Language Testing System (IELTS) band 0.5 lower than their University of Melbourne course entry requirement may be eligible to join the University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program and directly enter the University upon successful completion of the The University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program. The University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program is a 10-week course (250 hours) offered by the Hawthorn English Language Centre.

Exclusions
- Applicants seeking entry to the following Masters by Coursework programs - Global Media Communication, Global Journalism, Editing and Communications and Editing and Publishing - require an overall English Language Testing System of 7.0 and a written score of 7.0 with no other band less than 6.0 and are therefore not eligible for the The University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program.
- PhD, Masters by Research and undergraduate students are not eligible for the The University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program.
