The University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program (UMELBP)

Students who have achieved an overall IELTS band 0.5 lower than their University of Melbourne course entry requirement may be eligible to join the University of Melbourne English Language Bridging Program and directly enter the University upon successful completion of the UMELBP. The UMELBP is a 10-week course (250 hours) offered by the Hawthorn English Language Centre. Exclusions

  1. Applicants seeking entry to the following Masters by Coursework programs - Global Media Communication, Global Journalism, Editing and Communications and Editing and Publishing - require an overall IELTS of 7.0 and a written score of 7.0 with no other band less than 6.0 and are therefore not eligible for the UMELBP.
  2. PhD, Masters by Research and undergraduate students are not eligible for the UMELBP.
