Details
The successful applicant shall be enrolled for higher degree study in the School of Historical Studies. Undergraduate students,Honours graduates and postgraduate research students and are eligible to apply. Preference may be given to those who will be enrolled full-time during the period of receipt of the Scholarship.
Note Part-Time Students: The University is required to withhold tax from scholarship payments.
Information for Applicants
The Scholarship may not be advertised each year, depending on next available Scholarship commencement date.
*The Scholarship was last awarded in 2008, the next award will be 2010. The Caroline Kay Scholarship is awarded every two years and the scholarship is paid in installments over two years.
Eligibility
Eligible students are:
- students holding an Honours degree in Arts unless in special circumstances this requirement is waived by the Council.
- students who hold a B.A. and who wish to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (Historical Studies), (students wishing to do this in the first year of the Scholarship would not be excluded from selection).
- local and international student of the University of Melbourne
Applications
Note: There is no application form
Applicants will be assessed on their proposed course of study, work previously undertaken, and their suitability for research, and not merely on the results of their final examinations.
Applications should include the following:
- Scholarships/Prizes Cover Sheet
- Academic Record to date
- Proposed program during tenure of Scholarship;
- State if they are a full or part time student
- Two academic referee's reports
- Any other information which may assist the committee to make its decision.
