Details

The Felix Meyer Scholarship is offered each year, under the provisions of the will of the late Mary Fisher Meyer, for "postgraduate studies in some branch of Literature, classical or otherwise."

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide an opportunity, by travel or otherwise, for University of Melbourne graduates to undertake creative work during the tenure of the scholarship. A graduate to whom a scholarship is awarded must during the tenure of the scholarship undertake advanced studies in literature in any form and in ANY language as may be approved by the dean but need not pursue a course of studies for a higher degree. A applicant can undertake their advanced studies in Australia or in other countries at institutions which are approved by the dean.

The scholarship selection committee retains the right to determine the exact amount to be awarded, normally for a period of up to twelve months and this maybe renewed on the recommendation of the Dean for a further 12 months. The Scholarship may not be awarded each year.

If the committee deems no candicate is worthy of the award, no scholarship will be awarded that year.
