Value of Scholarships
There are two values of scholarships available through this program:
- All successful Sakata Scholarship holders will receive a payment of $3000 as support for their studies at the University of Melbourne. It will be distributed to the students in two instalments; the first in Semester 1 and the second in Semester 2.
- An additional $2000 will be made available to Sakata Scholarship holders who participate in the Melbourne Study Abroad and Exchange program; these funds are to be used to off set any extra costs (for example: airfare, insurance and/or cost of living) incurred by studying in Japan.
Students seeking this additional $2000 award must contact the Melbourne Abroad Office regarding current Exchange and Study Abroad opportunities in Japan. Application deadlines for Exchange and Study Abroad programs apply. Please refer to Melbourne Global Mobility website for more details.
A valuable resource for students in helping to determine overall costs involved in exchange and/or study abroad opportunities in Japan can also be found on the Melbourne Global Mobility website.
The extra funds will not be awarded to students until the exchange and/or study abroad opportunity has been confirmed by the Melbourne Scholarships office.
