Senior Arts Management Group
Terms of reference
The Senior Arts Management Group is concerned with promoting the continuing development of good management practice in the Faculty through a supportive network, which facilitates exchange of expertise and knowledge at all, levels of the Faculty.
The aims of the SAMG are:
- Facilitation of exchange of knowledge, informed dialogue and shared expertise to discuss and/or identify ‘gaps’ in development of policy and/or strategic operational planning across the Faculty
- Provision of a forum for exchange of ideas and discussion leading to a shared understanding of the Faculty’s strategic and operational goals and how each senior manager’s portfolio contributes towards meeting the Faculty’s goals and objectives.
- Enhance and encourage communication across Schools and the Faculty Secretariat to ensure inclusive collaboration and transparency in all management areas in dealing with policy development and implementation, key School/Faculty initiatives and major activities.
- Foster and enhance professional development for the Faculty’s senior managers through the identification of ‘gaps’ in training/development needs to assure ongoing skills development.
- Ensure all Faculty senior managers can lead and communicate Faculty strategic and operational goals and objectives, in realistic and understandable terms to his/her staff members.
The Senior Arts Management Group formally reports to Executive.
Working groups will be established as required.
Forums established by the Senior Arts Management Group include, but are not restricted to, the Resources Forum, the Research Forum and the Undergraduate Studies Administrator’s Forum. These groups report to SAMG.
