2006 Winner of the Best Practice in Supervision Award

Congratulations to the following member of staff who received the 2006 Best Practice in Supervision Award:

Kate Darian-Smith (The Australian Centre)

Awarded in recognition of excellence in research higher degree supervision.

Kate has worked with students from a range of disciplinary backgrounds, has been involved in supervisory arrangements with colleagues across the Faculty and the University and has supervised an unusually broad range of research interests and methodologies in Australian Studies and Australian History.

Kate has initiated a number of industry funded postgraduate scholarships and is currently on the Board of the University’s Writing Centre. She has had an impressive impact on her students who attest to Kate’s exemplary supervision style and on-going support for their research publication and career aspirations.
